Ubuntu or Windows

hello guys

Recently i have shifted to Ubuntu from Windows 8 .After using it for two month i felt that ubuntu is better than windows .Ubuntu can be installed very quickly than windows and it has a good booting time .There are many things you can can do with ubuntu but it is hardly possible with windows ,it has very good hardware support and needs low hardware configuration . Here are some of the reason why ubuntu is better than windows 8.

first thing is it is  Ubuntu is an open source distributon of linux and it is full version but if you go for any latest version of windows you have to pay for it or it is in trial version.

System requirements for ubuntu is lesser than windows .It takes less time that windows to get installed .Boot time of ubuntu  12.10 is lesser than wodows .

System requirements for ubuntu 12.10 (latest version)

  • 700 MHz processor
  • 512 MiB RAM (system memory)
  • 5 GB of hard-drive space (or USB stick, memory card or external drive but see LiveCD for an alternative approach)
  • VGA capable of 1024x768 screen resolution

System requirement for windows 8 (latest version)

  • Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2
  • RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB)
  • Hard disk space: 16 GB
  • Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

Windows lacks of preindtalled essntial programs but ubuntu comes with a package of pre installed programs like word,PDF viewer,f-spot etc and you dont have to buy them all.It comes with a preinstalled codes in the media player which is not available on windows .

Ubutnu is built in driver set for webcam , wi-fi , printer ,scanner and all you dont have to download or install them manually them like you have to do it in windows.

Most important Ubuntu well secured than windows , it has a good firewall i don't think that it needs an antivirus but in windows you need a good security .
